Nine student-athletes from Lemont High School have declared their intentions to engage in collegiate athletics starting in the fall of 2024. These commitments come across a variety of sports and colleges.
The student-athletes making commitments include Claire Young, who has committed to Aurora University for women's bowling. Football players Nevan Bufka will head to Illinois Wesleyan University, Chase Indestad to Olivet Nazarene University, Chase LeFevers to McKendree University, and Jake Sulzberger to the United States Air Force Academy. In men's soccer, Tyler Chrisman will attend the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and Billy Eliadis has committed to Upper Iowa University. Women's volleyball players Izabella Kowalczyk and Sophia Swiderski have committed to Aurora University and Morton College, respectively.
Nevan Bufka earned three varsity letters and accolades at Lemont High under head coach Willie Hayes. Next, he will play for Jared Williamson at Illinois Wesleyan University, a Division III institution. Tyler Chrisman, with an accomplished soccer career including setting a school record for assists, will continue under Tony Guinn at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Billy Eliadis, recognized for his performances on the field, is set to play at Upper Iowa University. His former teammate, Chase Indestad, who contributed significantly on the offensive line, has committed to Olivet Nazarene University to play under Avante Mitchell.
Among the women's volleyball commitments, Izabella Kowalczyk was a standout outside hitter at Lemont High and will join James Seitelman's team at Aurora University. Sophia Swiderski, also an outside hitter, plans to attend Morton College and play under coach Steve Dowjotas.
Chase LeFevers, known for his dual capabilities on the football field, will head to McKendree University. Jake Sulzberger, who has received both state and area honors, plans to join the United States Air Force Academy under the guidance of Troy Calhoun.
Finally, Claire Young, a talented bowler with four varsity letters, will bowl for Rich McElmeel at Aurora University.
These student-athletes have shown notable achievement both in sports and academics, with recognition as high honor roll and National Honor Society students, marking an important step forward into collegiate sports.
