Tony Hamilton Director of School & Community Relations | Lemont High School

The Lemont High School Educational Foundation (LHSEF) will fund 13 Educational Foundation Grants amounting to $46,497. The grants aim to improve educational experiences for the school's enrollment of over 1,300 students. This ties the foundation's record for the most grants funded in a single year.

"The LHSEF is fully funding a record-tying 13 Educational Foundation Grants for a total of $46,497, with a stipulation that the funds provided for the projects must be used by the end of the 2025-26 school year."

The projects supported include initiatives such as "21st Century Marching Band," "Baking Club Equipment and Supplies," and "Butterfly Effect Art Installation." The "21st Century Marching Band" proposal, submitted by Dave Nommensen & Ben Clemons, will receive $3,030 to purchase iPads for the marching band to enhance synchronizing music with formations.

"Baking Club Equipment and Supplies," proposed by Sarah Mimnaugh, will receive $1,700 to secure essential resources for the club, which debuted during the 2024-25 school year. The "Butterfly Effect Art Installation," proposed by Megan Idell, Shannon Jeglinski & Ryan Hennebry, will be funded with $21,112 to promote kindness and inclusion through art.

Since 2007, LHSEF has provided approximately $625,000 in grants. Additionally, they pledged multi-year support for the school's Learning Resource Center transformation into the CITGO Innovation Academy, which launched in 2018.

A key contribution to LHSEF's continuous support is the success of its "Food for Thought" series, especially the "Taste of Lemont" events. This year’s event is scheduled for September 6, 2025, and will feature local food and drink vendors, alongside live music. The event remains a family-friendly celebration.

"The LHSEF provides revenue and support to Lemont High School in order to enhance educational opportunities and enrich the overall experience for its students. It operates independently from the school, yet fosters the district’s ongoing and systemic efforts to attain the next level of success in all areas of a comprehensive education for all students."

The foundation's mission is to collaborate with the community to enhance the educational experience at Lemont High School through various programs that support both academic and personal growth. As a not-for-profit organization, donations to LHSEF are tax-deductible.
