River Valley School reported that 50.3% of its students passed the ELA portion of the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) test in the 2023-24 school year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Of the 292 students who took part in the IAR 46.6% met the testing standard while 3.8% exceeded expectations and scored highest on the test.

The total percentage of River Valley School students who met or exceeded their ELA expectations was unchanged from the previous school year.

River Valley School is located within Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A, which roughly covers three schools and has a main office in Lemont.

The Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) measures how well students in grades 3-8 are progressing toward state standards in English language arts and mathematics.

Illinois has approved a 2025 budget that allocates $8.6 billion to K-12 education, a $350 million increase from the previous fiscal year—the minimum required under the state funding formula.
