Lemont High School, recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2017, is set to hold its annual 8th Grade Open House on Wednesday, November 6. The event will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., offering current eighth-grade students and their families the chance to explore the campus and meet with teachers, counselors, and administrators.
The open house is aimed at incoming students who reside within Lemont High School's attendance boundaries or will do so during the 2025-26 school year. These boundaries cover Lemont and parts of Darien, Downers Grove, and Woodridge. The event provides an opportunity for prospective students and their families to learn about the school's academic programs and extracurricular activities. Visitors can tour various facilities including athletic areas, the Performing Arts Center, and the CITGO Innovation Academy.
For individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations, it is advised to contact the school's main line at (630) 257-5838 ahead of time. The open house will commence in the Performing Arts Center located on the southwest side of the campus at 800 Porter Street in Lemont.
Notably, there will be no placement exam for students entering as part of the Class of 2029. Course placements will rely on standardized test scores provided by students' grade schools.
A note for parents of Catholic or private elementary school students highlights restrictions outlined in "the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Handbook for School Administrators." These include prohibitions against inviting public high schools to recruitment events sponsored by Catholic elementary schools or allowing placement tests on their campuses. Despite these restrictions, parents are encouraged to attend Lemont High School's open house to explore educational opportunities available.
Parents considering enrolling their children from private schools are also directed to visit Lemont High School's New Student Enrollment page for further instructions specific to non-Old Quarry Middle School attendees.
