Tickets are now available for the annual “Taste of Lemont” event, scheduled for Saturday, September 6, from 5-11 p.m. The Lemont High School Educational Foundation (LHSEF) will host the event at the Metra Lot in downtown Lemont. Organizers say it is open to all ages and will include live music as well as a variety of food and beverage options from local vendors.
Advance tickets are $10 and can be purchased online, while tickets at the door are $15. Admission is free for those aged 14 and under and for Lemont High School students who present a valid student ID.
The Taste of Lemont is LHSEF’s main fundraiser each year. According to organizers, the event typically draws thousands of attendees from across the community. Food tickets can be purchased on site and exchanged with participating vendors. This year’s lineup includes more than 20 food and beverage providers, including returning businesses such as Barrel & Vine, The Creamery, Digs on Canal featuring Gelsosomo’s Pizza, Folklore Coffee, Heroes West Lemont, Jimbo’s Pizza, LHS Blue & Gold Athletic Boosters, Mama D’s, Matt’s Barbecue, Moreno’s, Pollyanna Brewing Company, Rosati’s Pizza, Rosebud Lemont, and Wooden Paddle. Celina’s Fresh Market and Rustic Knead will also return after previous participation. Newcomers include Bonita Bowls, Carpe Diem Dessert, Happy Bites, NovaTea, and Wok’d.
Live music will feature headliner Mike & Joe with Don’t Talk to Strangers opening the evening. Other activities include a “Split the Pot” fundraiser and children’s activities.
For the first time this year, LHSEF will provide free remote parking with shuttle service between the North Lot at Lemont High School and the event site.
The Taste of Lemont will take place rain or shine. Those who prefer not to buy tickets online may call (630) 243-3280 for more information.
Since 2007, LHSEF has awarded nearly $625,000 in grants supporting students, faculty and staff at Lemont High School. More than $125,000 has gone toward establishing the CITGO Innovation Academy. Organizers attribute much of this support to proceeds from past Taste of Lemont events.
According to organizers: “Proceeds from the Taste of Lemont benefit the LHSEF, whose mission is to partner with the community to make lasting improvements to Lemont High School that will enhance the total educational experience for all of its students. The Foundation funds and supports programs and opportunities that aid students’ growth, both academically and as citizens of the Lemont community. The Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable organization. All gifts to the Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent provided by the law.”
