The Lemont High School Educational Foundation (LHSEF) is set to host its annual fundraiser, "Food for Thought: Taste of Lemont," on Saturday, September 7. The event will take place from 5-11 p.m. near the Metra Lot in downtown Lemont and promises an array of local food and beverages along with live music.
Tickets are currently available for $10 if purchased in advance or $15 at the door. Admission is free for children aged 14 and under, as well as for Lemont High School students presenting a valid student ID.
"The Taste of Lemont is the LHSEF’s most important annual fundraiser, and it again will be open to all ages," according to event organizers. The community-wide event has consistently attracted thousands of attendees over the years.
Attendees can expect a typical "Taste of..." format where food tickets are bought on-site and exchanged with vendors. This year, 14 vendors will participate, including returning favorites like Barrel & Vine and newcomers such as Folklore Coffee.
Entertainment will feature headliner Mike & Joe alongside opening act Don’t Talk to Strangers featuring Joe Fascetta. A "Split the Pot" fundraiser will also be part of the evening's activities.
Rain or shine, the event will proceed as planned. For those preferring not to purchase tickets online, they can call (630) 243-3280 for assistance.
Since its inception in 2007, LHSEF has awarded over $575,000 in grants benefiting students, faculty, and staff at Lemont High School. Proceeds from this year's event aim to continue supporting educational programs through their mission-driven initiatives.
"Proceeds from 'Food for Thought' benefit the LHSEF," states the foundation's mission statement. The organization aims to enhance educational experiences by partnering with the community.
