Lemont High School’s Junior Achievement company, Lemont Publishing, Inc., is developing a new community-focused book called “Lemont Times” and is seeking input from local residents. The group is inviting community members to submit artwork, recipes, and short stories for possible inclusion in the publication. Submissions will be accepted until Wednesday, October 15, and all selected contributors will be credited in the book.
“Lemont Times” is expected to be available for preorder later in the fall.
The student-led board behind Lemont Publishing, Inc. includes seniors Michael Tilly (President), Mykala Kunickis (Team Leader of Customer Service & Sales), Noah Tienda (Team Leader of Supply Chain), as well as juniors Kevin Collins (Team Leader of Marketing) and Braden Vasvery (Team Leader of Finance).
Lemont High School’s Junior Achievement program creates a business each year where students are responsible for developing a product, selling stock, marketing it, and aiming to generate returns for shareholders.

According to the Illinois Report Card, Lemont Township High School had an enrollment of 1,378 students in the 2019-2020 school year and serves grades 9 through 12. Of these students, about 24.2 percent were seniors and 26.5 percent were juniors during that period, with grade 11 being the largest group. The school is located in Lemont and Cook County. Junior Achievement was founded in 1919 and delivers financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship programs to students from kindergarten through high school. Junior Achievement of Chicago is the largest office nationwide and aims to connect classroom learning with real-world applications.
Over the past 16 years, Lemont High School’s Junior Achievement teams have earned ten Chicagoland “Company of the Year” awards, including consecutive wins in 2023 and 2024.
