Sophie Kirincich, Long-Time Lemont Resident and Loving Matriarch, Passes at 92

Lemont, June 27, 2025 - Sophie Kirincich, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on June 27, 2025, in Lemont, Illinois, at the age of 92. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her peaceful passing.

Born Sophie Pomykala in Joliet, IL, Sophie resided in Lemont for 60 years. She was the devoted wife of the late John Kirincich and the loving mother of Nancy Walsh, Michael Kirincich, and Chris Hoster. She was adored by her grandchildren John Walsh, Kevin Walsh, Lindsay Amato, Tom Hoster, and Brian Hoster, as well as her great-grandchildren Easton, Enzo, and Pietro.

Sophie was predeceased by her siblings and is survived by her brother Anthony Pomykala, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Throughout her life, Sophie treasured her family above all else and was grateful for the lasting friendships she cultivated.

Visitation will be held at Markiewicz Funeral Home in Lemont on the evening of July 1, 2025. A funeral service will take place the following day at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, with interment at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery in Crest Hill.
