Volleyball standout April Rice honored by school board

LHS Volleyball Honoree April Rice | The Lemont High School

The Class 3A All-State volleyball player was recognized at the school board’s December 16 meeting.

Rice has been selected as a Class 3A All-State player by the Illinois Volleyball Coaches Association (IVCA).

Rice, a senior at Lemont High School, plays in the setter position. The team is coached by Alison Dyer.

According to the Lemont Patch, Rice is a three-time all-conference performer who earned four varsity letters under head coach Chris Zogata. She was named South Suburban Conference-Blue Division Player of the Year. Over her high school career, she won four SSC-Blue titles and three Illinois High School Association regional championships. The senior has committed to play for head coach Mary Tendler at Elon University, an NCAA Division I school in North Carolina.

Lemont High School has congratulated Rice for her achievements.
