Old Quarry Middle School reported that 75.5% of its students passed the ELA portion of the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) test in the 2022-23 school year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Of the 796 students who took part in the IAR 52.1% met the testing standard while 23.4% exceeded expectations and scored highest on the test.

The total percentage of Old Quarry Middle School students who met or exceeded their ELA expectations was unchanged from the previous school year.

The Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) assesses the progress of students in grades 3-8 in meeting the Illinois Learning Standards in English language arts and mathematics.

The percentage of fourth-grade and eighth-grade public school students performing at or above the NAEP Proficient level in reading in Illinois was not significantly different from the National level, according to the National Center for Education and Statistics.

A study conducted in December 2021 by the Institute of Education Sciences showed that students in grades 4-8 scored less in math than expected after the outbreak of the pandemic. More significant expected changes in learning occurred in grades 6-8 than in grades 4 and 5.

Assessment participation rates (all subjects, applicable groups) in 2023 are at or above the 95% testing threshold, according to the Illinois State Board of Education.
