Rita Mae Ludwig, Devoted Lemont Resident, Passes Away at 94

Rita Mae Ludwig (nee Zolecki), a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2024, at the age of 94. Rita is survived by her sons Bryan and Nowell, daughter-in-laws Susan Ludwig and Wendie Ludwig, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Born in Lemont, IL, Rita was a lifelong parishioner at SS Cyril & Methodius Church, where she attended grade school and received a full scholarship to St. Francis Academy High School in Joliet. After working at General Motors Acceptance Corporation and caring for her mother, Rita married her beloved husband Marvin in 1959 and raised their family in Lemont.

Rita, known for her impeccable fashion sense, love for family, and dedication to her faith, will be remembered for her close-knit relationships and cherished memories shared with loved ones.

Visitation will be on November 24, 2024, at Markiewicz Funeral Home in Lemont, with funeral services on November 25, 2024, at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church. Interment will be at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery. Donations in Rita's memory can be made to Bethany Lutheran Church's general fund.
