Susan Arlene Sahs, 88, of Downers Grove, Passes Away After Battle with Dementia

Susan Arlene Sahs, 88, of Downers Grove, IL, passed away on October 28, 2024, after a long battle with dementia. Born to Dwight Andrus and Viola Andrus (Davey) in Berwyn, IL, Susan was known for her roles including wife, mother, waitress, librarian, secretary, business owner, cook, and dessert maker. She cherished her grandchildren and was known for her love for animals, particularly schnauzers.

Susan is survived by her husband, Charles F. Sahs; children Amy (Dan) McDonnell and Brian (Lori) Sahs; and grandchildren Melissa, Michael, Eryn, and Allison. She will be missed by many relatives and friends.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, 108 Illinois St. Lemont, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Suburban Humane Society are encouraged to honor her love for animals.
