The Village of Lemont has introduced a new alert system designed to keep residents informed about urgent threats, weather warnings, traffic updates, and other critical information.
According to the announcement, the new Lemont Alert program will notify residents of urgent and emergency news related to imminent threats to their health and safety. Alerts will also include time-sensitive information such as weather warnings or traffic diversions that may affect daily routines or commuting.
Residents who previously subscribed to Lemont's Emergency Notification System through Commander One must re-register for the new Everbridge system, which offers more delivery options for alerts. It is important to note that this system does not replace the town’s Stay Informed e-news messaging system.
For more information about the system, residents are encouraged to visit the Lemont Alerts Everbridge website portal. Registration can be completed under the "Sign Up" tab at https://member.everbridge.net/305943405396539/ov. Additionally, Lemont Alerts can be accessed on the front page of the Village website at https://www.lemont.il.us/.
The new portal allows registrants to choose how they wish to receive notifications, including Mobile Push Alerts for Android and iOS devices, SMS text messages, emails, home phone, mobile phone, business phone, and TTY devices. Users can also prioritize the order in which they receive alerts. Some alerts may require confirmation of receipt.
Registrants have the option to select additional notifications they'd like to receive beyond Emergency Alerts, which are sent automatically. Options include township alerts, weather warnings, road closures, and more. For further details, residents can visit the FAQ page at: https://member.everbridge.net/305943405396539/faq.
