Four students from Lemont High School were recognized as "Students of the Month" for November at a Board of Education meeting on November 18. The honorees include senior Owen Zogby, acknowledged for his achievements in Music; junior Mirella Miazga, recognized for her excellence in Mathematics; sophomore Alex Brown, honored for his accomplishments in Business; and freshman Claire Podrebarac, awarded for her contributions to Science.
Lemont High School selects one student from each grade level every month to acknowledge their hard work and dedication to both the school and community. The selection process rotates among various departments throughout the year. In total, 32 students receive this accolade annually, with four students being honored each month from October through May. A student can only receive this honor once during their time at Lemont High School.
Local businessman Brad Grcevic from Edward Jones, Inc., located in Lemont, makes a monthly donation to a charity chosen by the award recipients. For November, the selected charity is the Hope & Friendship Foundation.
