Lemont Junior Achievement seeks community photos for new game design

Eric Michaelsen Principal | Lemont High School

Lemont High School's Junior Achievement company, Lemont Publishing, Inc., is seeking community involvement for the design of one of its upcoming products. The student-run organization plans to release a local version of the popular game 'Spot It,' titled "Lemont It," and is calling for photo submissions featuring Lemont landmarks.

The requested images include well-known sites such as the Lemont High School logo, clock tower, mural, old high school, quarries, canal, Metra Station, water tower, church steeples, Hindu Temple, Waterfall Glen, and Ellie Strong. All selected photos will credit their contributors.

Photos can be submitted until Friday, November 8. This initiative is part of Lemont Publishing's broader efforts to offer Lemont-themed games this fall. Products will be available for preorder later in the season.

Each year, Lemont’s Junior Achievement organization creates a business from scratch. A student-led board develops a product line while managing stock sales and marketing strategies to generate dividends for shareholders.

This year's board includes seniors Milena Maksimovich as President and Hailey Vasvery leading Finance. Juniors Mykala Kunickis heads Customer Service & Sales; Maggie Sinnett leads Marketing; and Michael Tilly oversees Supply Chain.

Junior Achievement is an educational nonprofit established in 1919 that promotes financial literacy and entrepreneurship among students from kindergarten through high school. The Chicago office is the largest in the United States. Programs aim to connect classroom learning with real-world applications.

Lemont High School's Junior Achievement teams have received ten "Company of the Year" awards in Chicagoland over the past 16 years, including honors in both 2023 and 2024.
