“Lemont’s Junior Achievement organization annually builds a business from scratch. A student-led board creates a product, sells stock in the company and markets the product, with a goal of reaping dividends for its shareholders.”

This year’s board consists of seniors Michael Tilly (President), Mykala Kunickis (Team Leader of Customer Service & Sales), Noah Tienda (Team Leader of Supply Chain), and juniors Kevin Collins (Team Leader of Marketing) and Braden Vasvery (Team Leader of Finance).

Junior Achievement is an educational nonprofit founded in 1919 that provides financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship programs for students from kindergarten through high school. The Chicago office is the largest in the United States. According to the organization: “Its programs empower students to make a connection between what they learn in school and how it can be applied in the real world – enhancing the relevance of their classroom learning and increasing their understanding of the value of staying in school.”

Lemont High School’s Junior Achievement program has received ten Chicagoland “Company of the Year” awards over the past sixteen years, including wins in both 2023 and 2024.
