Lemont High School is set to honor Eric Michaelsen, a 1981 graduate, by inducting him into its Alumni Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place on March 8 during the school's annual Lemont Bands Dinner Dance at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont.
The Alumni Hall of Fame acknowledges graduates who have made significant societal contributions and serve as role models for current students. This recognition is considered the highest honor awarded by Lemont High School to its alumni. It aims to foster pride within the school and community by celebrating individuals who have contributed to making Lemont High School an outstanding academic institution.
The 35th Annual Lemont Bands Dinner Dance will feature performances by the school's jazz band and will run from 6-11:30 p.m., with dinner served at 7 p.m. The induction ceremony is scheduled for approximately 7:45 p.m. The event will also include raffles for cash and prizes.
Tickets for the dinner dance are priced at $75 per person for those aged 13 and older, while children aged 2-12 can attend for $45 each. Reservations must be made by February 26, either online or through contact with Renee Foy at (708) 705-4557.
Alumni Hall of Fame honorees are selected based on their good character and achievements in their professional fields or community service. They serve as role models for students by upholding high ethical standards both during their time as students and as alumni.
The initiative was led by the Lemont High School Alumni Association, which seeks to maintain connections among alumni and strengthen ties with the school. This hall of fame operates independently from the school's Athletic Hall of Fame, established in 2004, though individuals may qualify for both honors if they meet specific criteria.
