Registration is now open for the ACT 36 test preparation program at Lemont High School, starting in January. The program aims to help students become familiar with the ACT exam. It is available to juniors from Lemont High School and other area schools.
Two seven-week sessions are offered, each consisting of weekly two-hour classes from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Lemont High School. The first session starts on Tuesday, January 21, running through March 11, while the second session begins on Wednesday, January 22, ending on March 12. Both sessions include a Practice ACT during the week of March 3, with extended hours from 5:30-9 p.m.
The course fee is $360 for seven sessions, covering the textbook and Practice ACT. If school closures occur due to weather or other reasons, an additional week will be added.
Registration closes on January 6 or when sections are filled. Late registrations will incur an extra fee. Students must register and pay online.
"The goal of ACT 36 is to give students the confidence, strategies and content necessary to score their personal best on the ACT," according to program details. The course reviews English and mathematics concepts and provides a practice exam opportunity. All instructors are trained and certified.
Lemont High School’s Class of 2026 will take the ACT on April 9 as part of a statewide assessment mandated by the Illinois State Board of Education.
